Wendougee MILO Play — Key Features
Espresso-speed grinding (5 to 8 seconds per dose)

– 18-25g dose takes 5 to 8 seconds at typical espresso settings. Quick enough to pull back-to-back shots without waiting on the grinder, and quiet enough to grind a morning shot without waking anyone sleeping in the next room.

Micron-level grind and RPM adjustment

– The servo motor moves the burr gap across the 80 to 650 micron range, and the brushless motor runs anywhere from 200 to 1000 RPM. Both values save per preset and recall with a single tap on the touchscreen.

Three programmable grind profiles

– The Wendougee MILO Play stores Three custom profiles, each with its own grind size in microns, motor RPM, and grind time. Dial in one setting for a light natural Ethiopian and another for a darker Brazilian, save them both, and switch between the two in under three seconds.

Built-in timer, runs standalone (no app required)

– A built-in timer grinds for the duration you set and cuts off on its own. After the first-time setup, the MILO Play runs entirely on its own. The E-Bar app is optional, not required to operate the grinder day to day.

Bluetooth pairing with Wendougee espresso machines

– The MILO Play pairs over Bluetooth with the Wendougee LITA BA, LITA LA, and DATA S espresso machines. When the MILO is connected to a Wendougee espresso machine, switching to a different brew profile on the machine sends the matching grind size and RPM to the MILO automatically, so the grinder reconfigures itself to match the shot you're about to pull.

28° Tilt Design

Body angle engineered for gravity-fed single dosing

The 28-degree tilt on the MILO Play isn't a styling choice. It's there because it works. Angling the grind path lets the beans feed into the burrs under their own weight, so there's no need for an auger or an agitator to push them through. The ground coffee also falls away from the burrs toward the chute on its own, which is what makes the single-dose workflow clean at every stage, loading, grinding, and getting the last of the grounds out into the cup. The body doesn't rock or slide at that angle, because the aluminium alloy base is weighted low to keep it planted.

Magnetic Chute

Magnetic dosing chute with integrated knocker

The chute on the MILO Play is magnetic and comes off in one motion — pull it straight out for a rinse or a quick brush. It's also a knocker. There's a small striking surface built into the assembly, so you can tap the grounds loose into the portafilter basket without having to pick up a separate tool. The magnet holds the chute firmly during grinding and releases cleanly when it's time to clean. It's a small thing, but it's one less piece of gear to lose track of in the drawer.

Retention

~0.1g average retention with reverse-rotation purge

Retention is the coffee that stays stuck inside the grinder between doses. The MILO Play averages around 0.1g. The 28-degree tilt feeds beans toward the burrs under gravity, the grind path is short and nearly vertical so particles have nowhere to settle, and a reverse-rotation cycle spins the burrs backwards after each dose to clear the chute. What you dose is what you ground.

E-Bar App

Full integration with Wendougee E-bar app ecosystem

The Wendougee E-bar app runs on IOS or Android and is how the MILO Play talks to the rest of the Wendougee ecosystem. On its own, the app lets you save grind size, and push them to the grinder from your phone. Paired with a Wendougee LITA BA, LITA LA, or DATA S espresso machine, the integration gets tighter: selecting a brew profile on the machine sends the matching grind size and RPM straight to the MILO, so the grinder is already set correctly by the time you load the portafilter.

Bellows

Manual bellows for complete grounds purge

Every MILO Play ships with a bellows that attaches to the top of the grind chamber and pushes a pulse of air through the burr path. The two moments it earns its keep: at the start of a session, to clear any humidity that's settled overnight, and mid-session when you're switching from a fine espresso grind to something coarser. Between the bellows and the reverse-rotation purge after every grind, very little is left in the chamber by the time the dose drops.

Brushless Motor

400W brushless variable-speed motor, 200 to 1000 RPM

Most grinders at this price run at one fixed motor speed. The MILO Play uses a brushless motor with a full 200 to 1000 RPM range, adjustable per preset. Slower RPM keeps heat out of the burrs on light roasts, protecting the volatile aromatics those coffees depend on. Higher RPM cuts grind time on darker roasts, which handle the faster pass without losing flavour. Same beans, different RPM, different cup.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

What is the Wendougee MILO Play?

The Wendougee MILO Play is a prosumer single-dose coffee grinder with 64mm flat burrs, a 400W brushless DC motor 400W brushless DC motor, and it adjusts its burr gap electronically via a digital servo motor across a 0–600 µm range. It sells for €999 at Vellutto in the EU/EEA and pairs over Bluetooth with Wendougee espresso machines for automated grind-size sync.

What burrs does the MILO Play use?

64mm stainless steel flat burrs. They have a traditional profile. heavy on body and less clarity

How is the MILO Play adjusted, and what makes it different from a normal grinder?

Adjustment is fully electronic. A servo motor moves the burr carrier to a chosen micron setting selected on the touchscreen. There is no traditional collar or dial. Users save the grind-size presets and switch between them in seconds in addition to controller from Wendougee E-bar App, which is the MILO Play's main selling point.

What is the retention?

Wendougee and Vellutto both quote an average retention of around or less than 0.1 gram thanks to the reverse rotation of the burrs, which puts the MILO Play in the near-zero-retention class alongside Niche Zero and DF64 Gen 2 with bellows.

How loud is the Wendougee MILO Play?

Due to the brushless DC motor and the 200–1000 RPM range it is not loud. You can comfortably use it in any household setting even if there's someone sleeping in the other room.

Does it come with a bellows, and do I need to use it?

Yes, a manual bellows is included in the box. Given the tilted chamber and magnetic knocker chute, the MILO Play can probably run dose-to-dose without it, but the bellows is the fastest way to fully purge between bean changes and is the standard workflow for achieving the quoted 0.1g retention.

Can it grind for both espresso and filter?

Yes. The 64mm flat burrs and 0–600 µm adjustment range cover everything from ristretto-tight espresso to coarse French press. The saved preset in the system is specifically designed to make switching between espresso, V60, batch brew, and press painless, which owner reviews highlight as the MILO Play's strongest workflow feature.

What is the E-Bar app and the Bluetooth pairing actually for?

The E-Bar app lets the MILO Play communicate with Wendougee's Data S and Lita espresso machines. And you can save a grind setting that include the burrs gap and the grand speed for each profile so you can go back to your preset when you wanna approve that specific profile for that specific coffee

What is included in the box?

The MILO Play ships with the grinder itself, a magnetic dosing chute, a 58mm aluminum catch cup, a manual bellows, a cleaning brush, and a printed user manual. the portafilter fork attached to the grinder

Where is it made and who makes it?

The MILO Play is made in China by Wuxi Ruike Automation Technology, the parent factory behind the Wendougee brand. Wendougee began in 2014 as a coffee shop chain in Suzhou and expanded into equipment manufacturing through its 13,500 m² Wuxi facility.

Where can I buy it?

In Europe, the MILO Play is sold by Vellutto (NL, ships EU-EEA wide)

How do I clean the MILO Play?

Vacuum or brush the chamber weekly, remove the magnetic chute and wipe it, and do a full burr removal and brush-out roughly once a month for daily users. Avoid water on the burrs or electronics. After burr removal you must redo the zero-point calibration.

Is there a MILO Pro or MILO Max?

No. The MILO line consists of the MILO II and MILO Play (also called MILO II Play), which appear to be the same or closely related product. Wendougee's larger commercial grinders (RKONE-64B, RKONE-90B-T, Ares) are separate product lines, not MILO variants.

What dosing cup size is included, and will it fit my portafilter?

The MILO Play includes a 58mm dosing cup, which matches the standard 58mm E61 portafilter basket found on most prosumer espresso machines. For 53mm Breville/Sage portafilters or 54mm setups, you'll need a third-party dosing cup.

Does it have variable RPM, and does it actually matter?

Yes, RPM is adjustable from 200 to 1000 via the screen and the knob and can be saved as per preset. Lower RPM (around 400–600) is widely believed to produce less fines and more flavor clarity for filter, while higher RPM suits fast espresso grinding. The taste difference is real but subtle.

Is the build really all-metal, or is there plastic?

The MILO Play body is aluminum alloy with plastic parts in some external sections.

How long will the burrs last?

Stainless steel 64mm burrs run closer to 400–500 kg.

Can the replace the burrs on the Wendougee MILO Play with SSP, Lebrew burrs?

Yes. Wendougee MILO uses the Standard 64mm Burrs that is widely used among other brands.
